Welcome to Plato's Closet® - a unique teen fashion store. We are a unique recycling retail store specializing in the hottest name brand casual wear. We buy and sell the latest looks in gently used clothing and accessories for girls and guys. Love to change your style? Our inventory changes every day!


The Goods

We're looking for an array of styles and brands to suit our wide variety of shoppers - from basic to fancy, casual to club wear, guys and girls, we carry it all. We specialize in Seven for All Mankind, Lucky Brand, True Religion, Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle, Steve Madden, Aeropostale, Free People, Diesel and tons of purses, shoes, jewelry and hats.

Parking Information

There are a variety of parking options in downtown San Mateo. If you can't find parking at the meters on 3rd Avenue, try the parking garage directly behind the store on El Camino or the garage across the street from the store above 3rd and 4th Avenue (by the Ben Franklin Hotel). The parking garage cost is 25 cents per hour.

Manager (Tara) and Stylist (Wyatt) recreated Fergie and Josh's look without breaking the bank. Tara has been with us since we opened. She is modeling her outfit which only cost $53 at Plato's Closet Boca Raton. Her jacket is collection by bernado ($14), vintage t-shirt is by topshop ($10), jeans by american eagle ($15), and completing her look with heels by bertini ($14). Our Stylist Wyatt has been with us for a year. His faux leather jacket is forever 21($15), button down shirt is polo by ralph lauren ($14), jeans are levis ($12) and shoes are forever 21 ($10). To complete his look he added a baseball hat ($6), totaling Wyatt's look for only $57! Both guys and girl's can get a rocking outfit at affordable prices at Plato's Closet.
